Register Now! We are almost sold out! Cane Care’s 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

Please click the graphic above to register for Cane Cares 2nd Annual Golf Tournament on October 21, 2022 at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course!

Last year, we held our our 1st Annual Cane Cares Golf Tournament and were able to raise over $17,000 at the event. With the money raised, we were able to approve a grant that will help to provide housing to a father and his two-year-old daughter from Guatemala who came to the US seeking asylum. Fleeing poverty, extortion from a local cartel, and an ineffective government, together father and daughter traversed 3,000 miles, often by foot, to come to our country.  After crossing, the single dad was placed in numerous detention centers including 8 months in a Nevada prison solely because he was seeking asylum.  During that time, his daughter suffered growth and speech delays. Somehow they endured and were reunited when she was 19 months.  Now they are working hard, assimilating, and enjoying life in sunny San Diego.

Mia Visits Mission Hills Post Acute Care – January, 2021

This Martin Luther King Day our founder’s daughter, Mia, came up with an idea for giving back all on her own. She got to work writing sweet notes to the patients at Mission Hills Post Acute Care, letting them know that they are loved and  that they are not alone. Mia found it fascinating that so many of these patients were alive to witness MLK’s early days as a social activist. They saw him become a leader of the Civil Rights movement and witnessed firsthand the hero that he became and the incredible legacy that he would leave behind.  “You must have such great memories of him,” Mia wrote in her notes. Thanks to Mia’s love letters, the patients at Mission Hills Post Acute Care were able to feel much less alone, as they too reflected on Martin Luther King Day.

Harry Santa Ho-Ho-Holiday Appreciation Party!

The Holidays are upon us, and so is the spirit of giving! This year Cane Real Estate and Own Home Mortgage are co-hosting a family friendly event, benefiting Cane Cares (a local, charitable Non-Profit) and Grant K-8 School. The event will be held Thursday November 29th, from 2pm – 7:30pm, at the Mission Hills Nursery. Join us for a day of celebration and giving, as we snack on local fare, enjoy libations, and mingle with neighbors, community members and friends. Santa and our own Hanukkah Harry will also be there, and they can’t wait to capture that perfect holiday moment for you to share with your friends and family this season!

Cane Cares exists to give back by supporting our local schools and communities through hardship grants and continued education scholarships. On-site donations include your photo with Santa or Hunukkah Harry, and/or you can choose to take Portrait Photos of your family, which you can use for your seasonal holiday cards! Pictures will be provided in a downloadable link shortly after the event! Happy Holidays!
