At Cane Cares, we believe that even the smallest acts of kindness can create lasting change. This year’s Annual Community Food Drive was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose: helping neighbors in need.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we collected and donated a substantial amount of food to PATH Partners, providing much-needed support to local individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Every bag of groceries donated represents more than just food. It represents hope, compassion, and the knowledge that no one has to face difficult times alone.
Thank You to Our Community Partners
This year’s food drive would not have been possible without the support of our amazing partners. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lazy Acres for generously donating thousands of reusable bags for the event. Their contribution made it easy for community members to participate and played a significant role in the overall success of the drive.
We are also honored to support PATH Partners, an organization dedicated to ending homelessness for individuals, families, and communities. Through outreach, housing assistance, supportive services, and long-term solutions, PATH Partners empowers people to regain stability and build brighter futures. Their work changes lives every day, and we are proud to play a small part in supporting their mission.
One of the most inspiring parts of this event was seeing our community rally together. Families, friends, volunteers, local businesses, and neighbors all contributed in meaningful ways. Whether you donated food, volunteered your time, helped spread the word, or simply encouraged others to participate, you helped make a real impact.
Supporting Cane Cares Mission
At Cane Cares, our mission has always been to strengthen our community by providing a hand up to those who need it most. Events like our Annual Community Food Drive remind us that meaningful change happens when people come together with compassion and a willingness to help.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, partnered with us, and supported this year’s food drive — thank you. Your generosity will help provide nourishment and hope to members of our community who need it most.
Together, we are proving that kindness is contagious and that, one act of generosity at a time, we can build a stronger, more caring San Diego.

Cane Cares is proud to announce that we delivered a $6,000 hardship grant to a local family in need who were on the verge of becoming unsheltered. The grant will go to help cover back rent and future rent, ensuring the family with two grade-school children can remain sheltered. Cane Cares would like to give a big thank you to Kristina Paine at Grant K-8 School, who helped bring to our attention to this opportunity.
Cane Cares was honored to be featured at Sister League of San Diego’s annual “Rise Up!” fundraising gala in October! Sister League took full advantage of the impressive venue, Ultimate Skybox at Diamond View Tower, to host an elegant soiree that raised over $170,000. Those funds will help provide safe housing for women in difficult circumstances all around San Diego.
We are thrilled to announce that this year’s 4th Annual Cane Cares Golf Tournament was another tremendous success! We raised a remarkable sum of nearly $20,000 to combat homelessness in San Diego. Our charity partner Sister League of San Diego will be receiving the first $10,000 of those funds. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors, donors, and participants—your generosity and commitment made this event possible! The tournament brought together our amazing community of golfers and local businesses for a fantastic day on the green—not just for the love of the game, but to support a cause that makes a real difference in the lives of women in need across San Diego.
